Empowering Myanmar Women: SheCreates

In the heart of Myanmar, there exists a women-centered organization that stands as a beacon of creativity, resilience, and talent, and it’s called SheCreates.

This vibrant community brings together creative individuals, locally and internationally, to showcase and celebrate the craftsmanship of Myanmar women. She Creates is an organization made for women, by women, that works to foster growth and appreciation for locally made products and traditional handicrafts.

With a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and a commitment to nature-conscious practice, SheCreates shines a spotlight on a diverse range of high-quality handmade items, including clothes and handicrafts. Each purchase benefits local communities and provides customers with a unique and meaningful experience.

On June 1st, 2023, Bridge was invited to take part in “SheCreates Week 2023” and to conduct a special branding workshop. Members of SheCreates - women entrepreneurs from the craft industry - were given insight into use of branding to elevate their business. Bridge’s Art Director, Ma Yin, led the workshop, which taught members that branding goes beyond just logos, and into a customer’s entire experience of the brand. Participants brainstormed ideas for the 'SheCreates' brand, and shared their own personal brand stories.

SheCreates is building a strong, nationwide network of female entrepeneurs. They envision a future beyond Myanmar, and sets out to be a central resource for women-led businesses, providing opportunity and maintaining the dignity of the creators it represents. As the organization evolves, it hopes to inspire women to embrace their talents and shine on both the local and global stage.

“I would like to thank Bridge wholeheartedly for your excellent work during the workshop at the SheCreates week. I really think it was one of the highlights of the week.” - Beatriz Lorenzo Didic, Embassy of Spain.
