Building a Scalable Brand for Frontier

Brand Identity & Animation

Bridge was engaged by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to develop a distinct and scalable brand identity for Frontier, a new initiative from ADB supporting early-stage SMEs across the Mekong and Pacific regions.

The project includes creating a complete branding system—logo, guidelines, and communication templates—that establishes Frontier as a credible, innovative brand while maintaining alignment with ADB’s reputation. To clearly communicate their core financial offering to entrepreneurs, we also created an engaging explainer animation about the flexible Revenue-Based Financing (RBF) service that ADB Frontier provides.

This initiative marks the foundation of Frontier’s long-term mission to empower SMEs in frontier markets and build a strong, future-ready identity from the ground up.

The Brand Identity

The visual identity needed to step away from traditional corporate finance and position Frontier as an approachable, innovative brand that differentiates it from traditional ADB programs while maintaining institutional credibility.

The Logo System

We designed a clean, modern wordmark that embodies innovation and growth. The letter 'n' features a supportive path and an upward arrow, visually representing an entrepreneur's journey and accelerated business growth. We also created primary and co-branded lockups featuring the parent ADB mark.

A Region-Inspired Palette

To reflect the specific markets ADB Frontier serves, the primary color palette draws directly from local natural resources. It features "Frontier Green" (inspired by the Mekong River and Pacific Ocean) alongside "Frontier Natural" and "Frontier White".

Distinct Brand Elements

To ensure the brand feels accessible and energetic, we introduced hand-drawn brand elements, including squiggles, arrows, and custom maps, adding a dynamic touch to their corporate communications.

Communication Templates

To ensure consistency and scalability across all touchpoints, we developed modular, ready-to-use templates for Substack newsletters, presentation decks, business cards, social media, and X-stand banners.

The Animation: Simplifying Complexity

We made a 2.5-minute animated explainer to clearly show how Revenue-Based Financing (RBF) works for early-stage SMEs. The video uses a moving "Hero Dot" to represent the agile entrepreneur and demonstrate the RBF process.

Localized & Promotional Formats

We made the animation in English, Khmer, and Laotian to reach fast-growing businesses in Fiji, Cambodia, and Laos. We also made a 1-minute cut for short, flexible promotion.
